Dionysus Now! honors the polyphonic tradition of the Low Countries with music by Adriaen Willaert
500 years after musicians from the Low Countries made a name for themselves throughout Europe, our region continues to be a hallmark of polyphony. The living proof: Dionysos Now!, one of the most exciting early music ensembles of our time. It's no coincidence that Adriaen Willaert, once the star Kapellmeister of San Marco in Venice, is at the center of the storm that tenor and founder Tore Tom Denys wants to unleash; they share the same birthplace in West Flanders. Willaert's Missa Mittit ad Virginem appeared on CD for the first time thanks to this ensemble and now adorns our concert poster.

ABOUT THE MUSICIANS
Six voices, tons of experience, unwavering conviction, and tireless drive – that's the capital of Dionysos Now! The passion project of Belgian tenor Tore Tom Denys, which started in 2020. Based in Vienna with concert experience worldwide, the singers tirelessly act as ambassadors for the Franco-Flemish polyphonists. The starting point is always the original manuscripts and prints that bear the footprints of composers like Adriaen Willaert, Denys' fellow townsman and ultimate source of inspiration. But the ensemble's interpretations are firmly rooted in the present, thanks to the cutting-edge vocal artistry and the immersive quality of the ensemble sound that rises like a cathedral of sound from the individual parts. With three vinyl recordings dedicated to Willaert, the ensemble also chooses quality, sustainability, and originality in their discography.
