Maastricht

Strange Thing is a comical and poetic performance about finding your own voice in a world of wondrous rules.

Strange Thing is an imaginative and musical performance that explores what “strange” really means. The story takes place in a world full of strange customs and curious rules. We follow a child and her mother who live together in a colorful living room. They do everything together: flower arranging, cleaning up, singing songs and doing laundry, all according to the mother's strict rules. “Stick to the rules, especially if you don't understand them,” the mother keeps saying.

The child, curious and full of imagination, tries to meet her mother's expectations, but often does not understand the rules. She increasingly loses herself in her own fantasy world. One day, she decides to explore on her own and discovers a world that suddenly feels very strange.
