Join the Architecture Baking Spectacle!

Architects, home bakers, and other Maastricht residents are invited to participate in Heel Maastricht Bakt!, organised by Bureau Europa. Everyone is encouraged to bake their own (dream) house and city! In London and New York, it's already a huge success: architects baking their best designs in cake and cookies. Now, in the grand showroom of Bureau Europa, we will have one big Maastricht, but in cookie form.

Architects and architectural firms are challenged to bake their best (whether realised or not) design, while enthusiastic home bakers are invited to create their own house, dream house, or one of the many iconic buildings from Maastricht. Institutions, companies, associations, and schools can also join in by baking their own building or creatively making something completely different. Anything is allowed, as long as it represents a building and is entirely edible.

Prizes will be awarded for the best bakes in each category, given out by our expert jury led by Chairman Mayor Wim Hillenaar. The goal of this baking spectacle is to involve everyone in thinking about architecture and our city. Together with Cultuurmakers Maastricht, we will also visit the neighbourhoods and bake in several community kitchens, contributing to social encounters in the neighbourhoods.
