Step into the world of Tochtgat, an enchanting theatre experience by Jef van Gestel and Peter van de Meulebroecke! Expect a dynamic performance centred around the power of the wind. In a landscape of dancing pieces of fabric, plastic bags, and floating cubes, two endearing characters wander. Although they have long lost the battle with the strong wind, they persist.
Tochtgat combines the aesthetics of draped fabrics in Rubens' paintings, the recognisable humour of slapstick, and the impact of life-sized modern visual art. The performance explores how we relate to the fertile yet destructive power of the wind, setting everything in motion, bringing things to life, but also creating chaos.
