In concert: Roon Staal Spring Tour

Maastricht

With his warm tenor voice and melodic piano playing, Roon performs well-known cover songs in an authentic manner, as well as his own compositions, both in English and Dutch.

As a child, Staal already graced the theater stages and TV studios alongside artists like John Kraaijkamp Sr., Ruth Jacott, Ron Brandsteder, and Ernst Daniël Smit. He played the role of Gavroche in the hit musical Les Miserables at the Carré Theater, and in his early twenties, he took on the title role in the rock opera 'Tommy' to critical acclaim. Later, in the musical Rembrandt, he portrayed the son Titus van Rijn alongside Henk Poort, and in 2010, alongside Chantal Janzen and Freek Bartels, he brought to life the story of the Dutch musical Petticoat, touring major theaters. Subsequently, Roon performed extensively in the Far East of Russia and Japan with his solo work, while completing around 4 tours per year in the Netherlands.

"Wonderful, really, that he managed to remain relatively unknown for so long," said critic Jacques d'Ancona. Not known from radio or TV but praised by celebrities, such as Art Garfunkel (Let the amazing tenor vocal performance of Mr. Staal now carry you away!) and Gilbert O'Sullivan (It's his voice, not least his songwriting ability, that really shines throughout), and for those who have already experienced it, you can now enjoy the disarming performance of this 44-year-old musician this spring.
