The five hundred year old late gothic Cellebroederschapel, formerly part of a much larger monastery, is a hidden gem in the center of Maastricht showing a unique vault with the original medieval paintings, beautiful chandeliers and a monumental organ.
The five hundred year old late gothic Cellebroederschapel, formerly part of a much larger monastery, is a hidden gem in the center of Maastricht showing a unique vault with the original medieval paintings, beautiful chandeliers and a monumental organ. By appointment groups can visit the chapel, incl. explanation about the rich history of the chapel and the Cell brothers. The chapel is a popular wedding venue for civil and religious marriages. The chapel is also suited for small scale funeral celebrations. The volunteers foundation, which manages the chapel, monthly organizes a sunday afternoon concert. The Vrijthof Theatre also uses the chapel for there classical chamber music performances because of the perfect acoustics.
