Eline Arbo directs Maria Kraakman in the award-winning play Prima Facie by author Suzie Miller. This impressive play, which previously made waves in the West End and on Broadway, is now being performed in Dutch for the first time.
The story revolves around Tessa, a brilliant and ruthless defense attorney specializing in sexual offense cases. For her, practicing law is a sport in which she excels by neatly discrediting victims of sexual abuse. She manages to keep defendants out of prison by sowing just enough doubt and always bringing out the 'legal truth'.
However, her world changes drastically due to an unexpected event that irreversibly turns the tables. This confronts Tessa with the harsh realities of her profession and the impact of her actions. The play offers an in-depth look at the complexity of the legal system and the moral dilemmas faced by lawyers.
