With the permanent exhibition on the middle floor, Museum Valkenburg aims to tell the story of Valkenburg and its surroundings, from ancient times to modern times.
You will find everything about geology, archaeology and flints, but also about Valkenburg as a marl city and fortified town. Themes such as Catholicism, the Geul, tourism and the Via Belgica pass by.
‘The renewal of the museum has taken on a strong experimental character on this floor,’ says designer Paul Tieman. This design breaks new ground, making the building and the collection on display a surprise for visitors. The newly designed middle floor has thus become a ‘total work of art’. Museum Valkenburg is thus developing its own unique face.
