'In My Eyes' offers a unique perspective on art through the eyes of three Maastricht residents who have never been to the Bonnefantenmuseum: Francisca Callemeijn, Fred Byrman, and Maria Maas. They selected five never-before-seen works from the Bonnefanten collection and shared their thoughts on these pieces with Els Huver. These reactions can be heard while you view the artworks.
Els Huver aims to make art and culture accessible to a more diverse group of people. With 'In My Eyes,' she explores what people see when they look at art. The three participants share their personal insights, and visitors can respond in writing to what they see.
The displayed works have never been exhibited before due to thematic or material limitations. The project highlights the barriers that both artworks and visitors face when entering the museum, emphasizing the unifying power of art.
