A Room of One’s Own

Women in the Spotlight: Art, Creativity and Self-Expression

Focusing on art, creativity, and self-expression, with academic education as self-image. Since when have women had the space for individual, creative career paths?

In 1929, author Virginia Woolf, in her essay 'A Room of One's Own,' called on women to claim their own rooms, financial support, and time. Creative processes can only begin in your own protected space: thinking, trying things out, and approaching subjects. It takes courage to experiment, rethink, and take the risk of failure to visualise an individual artistic statement.

The Euregio group of artists has been presenting cross-border art projects for 30 years. Developing subjects, taking possession of spaces, organising and executing on location forms a close network. In the end, there is the joint presentation, which gives inspiration and impetus to the audience and tells about our view of life and the world.
